Hello!

Currently a senior at ‘Iolani School, I have been involved with Imua ‘Iolani on a consistent basis since eighth grade. As a four-time editor and two-time editor-in-chief, I am now the Overall Editor-in-Chief of Imua excited to maintain our mission of always being the voice for students. I possess vast experience engaging in and supporting both students and editors through writing, digital design, photography, editing, and newsroom management. I am a personable, detail-oriented leader who values and emphasizes everything from novel ledes to intriguing interview questions. I am grateful to have been the Most Valuable Staffer in 2021 and have earned five Hawai‘i High School Journalism Awards, a Pele Bronze, and two Pele Gold awards. 

 

Ultimately, I see journalism as analogous to the word intersection: it builds connections to the audience, between the people who produce the work, and among different disciplines and themes.
